SZ13 Series On-Load Tap Changer and Voltage Regulating Transformer

The SZ13 series on-load tap-changing voltage and capacity regulating transformers are suitable for applications with seasonal load variations. When the load is light (or no load), the transformer can be switched to a lower tap, reducing its capacity and thereby minimizing core losses. These transformers are ideal for users in rural areas, forestry operations, salt farms, and other locations where electricity consumption fluctuates significantly and the cycles of change are relatively long. Since being put into operation, they have performed well, successfully achieving the intended goals of high reliability, substantial energy savings, convenient operation, and low manufacturing costs.

Product Overview

The SZ13 series on-load tap-changing voltage and capacity regulating transformers are suitable for applications where seasonal load variations occur. Since being put into operation, they have performed well and have successfully achieved the intended goals of high reliability, substantial energy savings, convenient operation, and low manufacturing costs.

Product Model and Meaning

Terms of Use

1. Altitude ≤ 1000 m;

2. Ambient air temperature: -25°C to +45°C, with an average temperature of ≤+30°C during the hottest month.

3. Environmental Humidity: Monthly average relative humidity ≤ 90%; daily average relative humidity ≤ 95%.

4. Pollution Level: Class III.
Main Features

1. The controller automatically shifts gears based on load size, eliminating the need for manual operation.

2. When a load‑regulated transformer is switched from a high capacity to a low capacity, the increased number of turns on the low‑voltage side reduces the magnetic flux density in the core, thereby decreasing the specific loss of the silicon steel laminations and lowering no‑load losses and no‑load current, which in turn helps reduce losses and save energy.

3. When a load‑regulated transformer is switched from a high capacity to a low capacity, the conductor cross‑section increases, the resistance decreases, and the load losses can be reduced by approximately 60%.
